Once again, thousands of former banana workers are marching to Managua to reclaim their rights and respect for the promises made by the Government and the National Assembly:
- The right of the workers to a life-time pension.
- 227 million Córdobas ($14 million) for medical assistance, which should be included in the country's general budget and designated for the Ministry of Health (MINSA).
- The publication of the Raizón Accord, signed in 2004, and the National Assembly's resolution of November 20, 2002 in the official newspaper, La Gaceta, so that Law 364 will remain in effect and not be reformed.
We ask the Government and the National Assembly to respect these promises that they made in months past and that they also defend the life and rights of the citizens, seriously affected by the criminal attitude of the transnational banana companies.
