Workshop Topic Tracks
(These topics are not exclusive—fill out the poll found at www.nicanet.org
if you would like to see a workshop on a particular topic!)
• Problems and joys of building and maintaining solidarity relationships
• Development that favors the poor majority and preserves the environment
o (e.g. small scale and/or organic farming, fair trade, reforestation and
water projects, solar energy, etc.)
• US political and economic intervention
o (e.g. CAFTA, election interference, IMF mandates, militarization, etc.)
• Health, education, and human rights (including economic and social
rights, civil rights, indigenous rights, labor rights and women’s
rights)
• Culture
Workshop Logistics
Length: Each workshop will be one hour and forty five
minutes. Facilitators must limit presentation time to one hour including
translation and use the remaining time for dialogue and shared experience.
Format: Conveners will be expected to avoid PowerPoint
presentations and lecture style workshops. Workshops should be highly interactive.
