On December 4, 2006, a letter with nearly 700 signatures was delivered to the Senators on the Armed Services Committee. The letter called for the Senators to ask Robert Gates, nominee for the position of Secretary of Defense, questions surrounding his involvement in the Iran-Contra affairs and other questionable activities.
